Exports of chilled, frozen and processed chicken topped 622,071 tonnes in 2015, valued at US$2.4 billion. The main target markets were Japan, the UK, the Netherlands, Laos and Singapore, DITP Director General Malee Choklumlerd stated on January 25.

“Thai businesses have high potential for processing agricultural and livestock products as the process meets international standards. Our labour is also highly skilled and professional,” Choklumlerd said.

The Director of the Office of Commercial Affairs in Seoul, Panot Punyahotra, announced that South Korean authorities will be inspecting Thai chicken farming facilities in February in advance of commencing exports of chicken from Thailand into South Korea.
